The Big Dragon

The Dragon (large)

In 1973 the Housing Development Board of Singapore initiated a series of playgrounds designed by Mr Khor Ean Ghee. It captured the imagination of all Singaporeans with a distinctively local flavour built around archetypes of swings and see-saws. The playgrounds have slowly been phased out in the name of progress, however their image has strengthened over time and now become entrenched within Singapore’s national identity, becoming genuine icons that all Singaporeans have endeared themselves to. Though the scale of the playground itself may disappear, its huge affinity with locals still remains and it's spirit is embodied in The Dragon design by Jarrod Lim.

The Dragon is a rocking-horse available in two sizes. Shown here is the large version
